I have a passion for the SSA. I have much to offer to this wonderful organization. With me on board, we can hopefully reach new heights insha allah. I have been the vice president and president of MSA @ CSCC. My peers and I have accomplished many things while we were there. I have gained the leadership skills that I need to help this organization move forward insha allah. One of my many goals, but most important one, is to get ever student who is Somali that attends osu or cscc involved in this organization. With a good turnout rate in each event, we will then try to take on more tasks. insha allah. |
My names Jamal Ali. I'm a junior majoring in Security & Intelligence with minor in Arabic. As a former president of the Somali Student Association at Columbus State, I believe I can bring valuable experience and contribution to this organization. Through my involvement with the current board and my participation of last years events, I've come to realize the challenges and the hardships that await this organization when the current executive board steps down. With me and the other amazing candidates on board, I believe we can take this organization to the next level. We have a lot of plans and new additions that needs to be implemented as soon as possible so hopefully we'll get the chance to this organization to new heights.

Asalaama Caleykum. My name is Abdullahi Abas Jama and I am a third year studying Biology (major) and Arabic (minor).
I want to be the Secretary of the SSA because I feel as if I have a lot to offer this organization I have experience in leading student organizations as I am currently the Vice-President of S.O.A.R, a student organization which I co-founded. Also as an upperclassmen, I feel obliged to give back and help out the new underclassmen coming in next year, and I think that being part of the SSA board would be a good way to do so. |
Salam, my name is Saido Mohamed. I am running for Marketing Chair. I've been to a lot of SSA events and I like the feeling that I get of being part of a community. I want to help speared that feeling to other individuals. When it comes to marketing I've helped design flyers for my high school charity event. And I like to think of my self as being creative. I've helped plan events for a charity organization that my friend came up with in high school. I was in charge of getting people involved with the charity as well as going around and asking to be part of big names charity organizations, like UNICEF. I plan on generating ideas and help plan workshopes that can be helpful in raising awareness about the Somali heritage. And also bring Somali and none- Somali students together.

My name is Abdinasir Hayir. I am OSU student studying double major Economics and world Economics & business this is my fourth year and I’m graduating next autumn and I'm running for your SSA treasurer. As all of you know, SSA treasurer is in charge of SSA funds and keeps a record of how it is spent. Most of you are probably wondering, why me? The job of treasurer is a great responsibility, and I will not take this job lightly. I promise to dedicate my time and effort for this cause, and work hard to manage your money. I feel that I am qualified for this job because I am majoring Economics and World Economics and business, I am responsible, and an honor student and I feel like I can handle this job and make it differences. If and when I get elected, I promise to put my duties as treasurer as part of my top priorities.

Hi, my name is Mohamed Aden Haji. I am a sophomore at The Ohio State Univeristy, and I am majoring in Finance. I am running for IT Chair because I would be able to connect with the other students and also I'm not so bad with electronics. My short-term goals are to increase the participation of the SSA by spreading the news to other Somali's in the university and local community colleges. My long-term goals are to help SSA become a big organization in Columbus, Ohio and also to try and connect with other SSA organizations within the United States, such as the one in Minnesota, Minneapolis. With more active members we would be able to achieve a lot more than with only a few people. Not only would I be promoting from the SSA social networks, but also my personal social networks.
