On the first week of school to start the 2017 winter semester, we had the opportunity to host the US Ambassador to Somalia, Stephen Schwartz, the 1st US ambassador to Somalia in 25 years. We discussed US foreign policy concerns, the political process in Somalia specifically in the midst of the upcoming presidential elections, how the change in US leadership will affect US-Somali relations, and much more.
