It’s an incredible honor to serve as the Somali Students’ Association (SSA) president this school year. Together, we have the power to uplift our Somali community, share our rich heritage, and inspire the next generation. Assalamu Alayakum everyone! My name is Fatima Shauri, and I’m a third-year double majoring in international studies and communication technology. I am incredibly excited and privileged to serve as SSA’s Vice President this school year. I am eager to collaborate with you all, as your ideas and participation are vital to uplifting the Somali community. Let’s make this year unforgettable by embracing our culture, uplifting one another, and forging lasting connections. I can’t wait to see you all at our upcoming events, InshaAllah!

Asalamu Alaikum, my name is Mohamed Omar and I will be serving as this years treasurer. I’m a 2nd year student majoring in biology on the pre-med track. I look forward to meeting everyone and making a long lasting impact on our community.

Salam everyone, my name is Iman Mohamed and I’ll be serving as Secretary this year! I’m a second year majoring in Biology on a pre-med track and I’m most excited to meet new people and make memories, while also creating an environment for Somali students to thrive throughout higher education!

IT Chair

Assalamu Alayakum everyone, my name is Rahmo Ahmed, I’m currently a second-year Marketing major. This year, I’ll be serving as the marketing chair, and I’m so thrilled to highlight our beautiful Somali culture here at OSU. I’m also eager to bring you all some amazing and engaging content!

Assalamu alaykum! My name is Hanan, and I am a second-year Finance major. This year, I will be serving as Co-Events Chair for the Somali Students Association (SSA). I am excited to create inclusive and traditional events that everyone can enjoy and learn about our culture. Hi, my name is Fowzia Abdullekadir. I am a third-year biology major on a pre-dental track. I will be serving as academic chair this year inshallah. I aim to bring a fresh perspective and actively engage in initiatives that support and uplift our community!

Assalamu Alaykum! My name is Asmaa Hashi and I’m a 4th year majoring in microbiology on the pre med track. I’m looking forward to serving as service chair on the SSA board because it gives me the opportunity to connect our community with meaningful service projects and make a positive impact.
