President Mushtaq Dualeh Assalamu Alaikum, everyone! My name is Mushtaq and I am a third-year studying Public Health and Development Studies.
I am the President of the Somali Student Association, the Secretary of the Muslim Students Association as well as a member of the Chimes Junior Class Honorary. I also serve as a student events lead with Visits and Events for Undergraduate Admissions and First Year Experience here at Ohio State.
In the future, I hope to obtain a Masters in Public Health and go forth in obtaining a PhD to further a career in health policy, epidemiology and international development, inshaAllah.
This is going to be an incredible year, inshaAllah, and my fellow board members and I will bring together our diverse skills and do our very best to make it an educational, memorable, and fantastic experience for you all, inshAllah. Allahu Alim.

Asalamu ‘Alaykum guys! My name is Siham Abdi and I am the Treasurer. I am a second year majoring in Public Health and I am also on the pre-medicine track. In the future I hope to go to Medical school, inshAllah.

Hello everybody! My name is Deqa Farah. I am a second-year majoring in Nursing. In the future my goal is to become a Nurse Practitioner.
As Events Chair my goal is to bring more people from the Somali community together and do things that will not only impact us but people in our community as well. I have a lot of fun and exciting events planned for this school year that you don't want to miss out on Insha'Allah.
Marketing Chair Ekram Ali Salam everyone! My name is Ekram A.Ali, I'm a third year majoring in Public Health. After undergrad, I plan on going forth in getting a masters in Public Health as well. I have a passion for African Development along with Maternal & Child Health and hope to make a difference back home someday, somehow.
As the Marketing chair this year for SSA I plan on getting our name out there! We have a huge Somali community on this campus, my board members and I will do our best to get everyone involved & make it a great year for us all.
Outreach Chair Mawo Nor
Aslaamu aleykum wa rahamatullahi wa barakatu guys! My names Mawo Nor and I am the Outreach chair for SSA this year. I am a second year student majoring in Respiratory therapy In sha Allah.
As outreach chair this year, my goal is to get more off campus students involved in the events we have for Somali students here at OSU and bring us together as one in sha Allah. My fellow board members and I hope to do our best in making this year a very fun and memorable year.
